A great story, interesting characters, compelling information and fine writing are high on my list.

This is precisely what we get in Chris McDougall’s new release, Born to Run. Chris has done a masterful job of putting it all together in a fascinating account of the human body and the human spirit. The thing I most like about his work is that it is so multi-dimensional. Sure, there are plenty of mono-maniacs in this story, but McDougall keeps his perspective, surveying the scene from both inside and outside. The story isn’t just about runners or running. It’s about a culture clash, the power of transformation, the demise of the modern human body and the crippling effects of modern footwear. Thus, the story satisfies on many levels. It hardly matters what your interest is; if you care about human health, modern society , the history of physical experience, or just a great story, this book is for you.

Buy it. Read it.
