I read this months ago, it was like a fun road trip awaiting what is coming around the next corner; pulled me in then.
Intriguing again.
You are truly an amazing author.
It is a joy to read your work.

Thank you for your essay. I've been training physical earth practices for years and your essay gives me guidance in finding my way out into the land and craft a practice. It seems so few men in the fitness world relate to the earth this way. Most of the fitness world seems to be focused on dominating the land instead of getting sacred with it.

I share earth gym practices with women who naturally understand the power, balance and wisdom playing on the earth creates. I hope your work will inspire more men to open their hearts to the land - so they too will understand.

Aside from the visual tonic landscapes provide, the deeper quest takes courage, trust, faith and the ability to let go ...so love can flow.

Wow, thanks for putting into words the feelings and energy of being in nature. My dog Rufus and I love to lust and romp in the wild, to explore, and observe and discover, and feel that earth lust. Rufus gets so excited on these treks and wags his tail madly, his whole body shakes and waggles, and I climb and dance and let the flow take us where ever we end up!!I think domesticated animals are great teachers to sluggish humans as to how important the earthlust is. AS defined by websters dictionary; LUST: passionate or overmastering desire or enthusiasm, zest, relish, a strong yearning or excessive craving.[ and all the sexual meanings I hope we all know.] and ORGASM; physical and emotional sensation,.intense or unrestrained excitement. I know I crave the balancing, grounding, peace and passion of being in nature. Maybe if Frank and the Sensay talked more about lust and orgasm's in the wild, people would throw off their shoes [at least] and venture out into the bliss.

Although, I do so love those high peaks, reached by some effort, there is nothing to compare with a plunge into a cool lake, on a hot day; or an evenings' soak in a hot-springs pool.

I too am a bit larger for meeting dear Barefoot Sensei and sharing a lusty walk upon this Earth that his feet kiss tenderly each day. I am in love and dancing multiple orgasms every single day (see daily films and blog of erotic dances with earth at http://lifeartmastery.com) with the interplay between the inner and outer landscapes of body, soul and land--a sacred exchange between our senses and imagination that shows the way to being the greatest possible humans on earth. Thank you for this post dear Frank...and since you asked...it is going GREAT!

Yoish! This is an amazing essay!
The unseen "sensory organizations" flowing through the "sensory organs" and "organizing" with the "sensuous organics" of the land, manifesting a orgasm of being "as" the land.
For me the first step is stepping out of "shoes". They are like condoms on the feet!

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE THIS LAND!

Barefoot SenSay,

This essay chimes well with a poem I just memorized, titled "In Touch".

True natures are in touch
With all things beautiful--
The earth and sea and sky,
Winds,
Wildlings
And each other.

Their loneliness is such
As solitude relieves,
Art,
Or the rare, sweet reprieves
Of souls akin,
Close met.

from Wind-Harp Songs by J. William Lloyd
---------

And also, for me, chimes well with this quote from Whitman that caught my eye this week:

The friendly and flowing savage, who is he?
Is he waiting for civilization, or is he past it, and mastering it?

Walt Whitman

I love it! And I couldn't agree more! The Earth/Land is the root of our sensuality!

Like Kwame, I've seen the fear of the sensuous in people for a long time. I play with that fear too, by saying things like, "Yeah, I had intercourse with him/her" yesterday. When the people stop and look at me aghast, I say "VERBAL intercourse. I SPOKE with him/her! Sheesh...dirty mind!"

The root of the sensuous, and of the orgasm, is, as you say, in the earth. But the branch is in us - in the organism - and we can tap into that at any time.

As I type this, my window is open, letting the 45-degree San Francisco air into my room. It's cold as hell while I sit here. I can feel the cold around the edges of my nostrils, and on my hands. I can feel my body's response to this cold...

For the folks who can't or won't get out into the Land, they can use their body as the Land. Their body is the Land anyway...it came from the Land and will return to the Land when they die. It never was separated from the Land except by their choices.

So I submit this...if you cannot or will not get out into the Land, explore the Land of your body. I don't mean masturbate (which you could also do). I mean, feel the air on your exposed skin. Feel the inside of your clothing. Feel your contact with the ground and how you are with it. Pay attention to your physiology...can you hear your heartbeat? Listen more closely...

I call this "physiology tracking."
